Aquaporins and their implications on seeds: A brief review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Aquaporins (AQPs) are water channel proteins. They play a key role in maintaining balance and homeostasis cells under stress conditions living organisms. AQPs pore forming transmembrane proteins that facilitate movement various small neutral solutes across cellular membranes. Aquaporin expression transport functions modulated by phytohormones mediated signalling plants. Transcriptome analysis revealed the of aquaporins regulating hydraulic conductance plant roots leaves. Different found seed system have individual more time tissue specific, ultimately helping imbibition process to complete germination. Seed specific TIP3s aquaporin helps maintain longevity expressional control ABI3 during maturation heat shock late embryogenic abundant Under circumstances, major significance seeds is influx efflux rates, as well protein modification, post translational alterations, nutritional acquisition allocation, subcellular trafficking CO2 transport. The present review mainly focused on structure, classification, functional activity solute transport, reproductive organs development, growth abiotic response also roles such biology, development maturation, dormancy, germination longevity.

Structure, function, and localization of aquaporins: their possible implications on gamete cryopreservation.

The discovery of water channels (aquaporins, AQPs) was a landmark event for the clarification of water transport through the plasma membrane. AQPs belong to a family of intrinsic membrane proteins that act as selective channels for water and for solutes such as glycerol and urea. AQPs were found in different tissues and organs, including male and female reproductive systems. In the swine female...

Aquaporins in development – a review

Water homeostasis during fetal development is of crucial physiologic importance. It depends upon maternal fetal fluid exchange at the placenta and fetal membranes, and some exchange between fetus and amniotic fluid can occur across the skin before full keratinization. Lungs only grow and develop normally with fluid secretion, and there is evidence that cerebral spinal fluid formation is importa...
